Susanna is an excellent trainer, obviously an expert in her field. The training was very engaging and had lots of opportunities to participate. Our leadership was out of their comfort zone and they were having fun while learning best practices. I highly recommend it.
Working with Susanna was an incredible experience. I was worried about doing such personal work over Skype but it flowed easily and it felt like we were in a room together. Susanna was able to help me break through some large mental obstacles I had about being able to connect with people through video. Her coaching led me to deliver a passionate, clear and compelling speech that will be used in marketing my services to my audience. I know I would not have gotten the results I did without her help. She squashed my fear and anxiety and made it fun and feel totally doable. Thank you, Susanna!
What an experience was working with Susana. From the very beginning she makes you feel comfortable and finding humor in yourself in ways you never expected to be. Susana makes you discover how to improve your communication being yourself and adding your own sense of humor. I would recommend her sessions to any professional who wants to advance in their career...”
I am naturally pretty introverted and I felt apprehensive at the start of Susanna’s class. But within minutes, I was doing a noisy imitation of a monkey and shouting out names of fictitious reality TV shows (which made sense in context!). I really liked how she began the class with a series of warm-up activities, and as an athlete I instantly saw how this analogy from exercise benefits improvisation and creative thought. The activities she led us through were not at all intimidating, and although I was in a group of virtual strangers, I was able to relax and have a lot of fun and—best of all—stop censoring myself like I usually do. Thank you, Susanna!”
As a writer first and stand-up comedian second, being comfortable on stage and using my body while performing were hurdles I had to jump over so I needed a coach to help draw the comic out of me. Susanna did just that. Because of her comedy coaching I am like a turtle who has fearlessly poked her head out of her reserved shell. Pain + time = comedy and Susanna had a way of drawing out every experience from my life good or bad and finding the funny from it. She helped me get to my true authentic self and helped me foster my point of view. Susanna is the Dalai Lama of comedy coaches, she is part therapist and part healer. Thank you for transforming my stand-up and my life.”
For a campus always filled with smiles and joy, the experience is always enhanced when Susanna arrives! She brings professional expertise to our staff and students and certainly a good laugh for all!”
Susanna is my secret weapon. As a CEO of an Ed-Tech startup, I constantly need to network, give presentations or undergo media interviews. Susanna is my go to communications coach to help me prepare for these events. With her help, I always deliver a stellar performance. Not only is she witty, patient and caring, she also intuitively knows what helps her clients overcome their own fears and self-doubt. The fact that she’s a comedian makes the process extremely enjoyable. With Susanna’s help, I’ve become that effective communicator and leader I’ve always wanted to be. I recommend her coaching service to any executives who want to improve their communication skills in different life settings. You’ll be very happy with the results.
This workshop was incredibly useful, helpful, and I can’t wait to utilize my own voice in making a difference in the office, and I loved getting to know my co-workers!
I didn’t know Bob in accounting liked to barbeque, next time we’re heading to his house for happy hour!If I knew I could make people laugh and feel comfortable, presenting pitches and dealing with brokers would be a whole lot more fun, and easier!
“Susanna’s comedy workshop for our all staff meeting was constructive, well thought out, accessible and most of all, FUN for everyone! She gracefully included all 40 members of our staff, many of whom would never dream “performing comedy” was something that they could “do.” She brought us together, gave us a wonderful common experience to share, and helps us learn about more about each other in the process. I highly recommend her!”
I was able to attend a “sneak peek” of Susanna Spies’ Finding Your Funny workshop series during one of her visits to Princeton, New Jersey. It was clear that Susanna has a talent in helping adults gain confidence in their presentation and communication skills. Over the course of the session, I learned key points that I know I will use in my daily life as hospital attorney and skills that will help me to connect to co-workers in a new, very relaxed way. I would love to attend Susanna’s entire workshop ~ and hope to have the opportunity as she expands her work to the East Coast.
Susanna obviously has a great gift for teaching. She seamlessly turned something highly stressful into something natural, fun and exciting. Personally, the biggest discovery was that when she encouraged us to own our feelings and opinions I was able to experience how words flow more naturally from that place without the need for crippling self doubt or fear of blanking out. When you speak your truth it grounds you. Her teachings whilst fun. simple and easy to get , were both effective and profound. I would not have believed she could accomplish so much in a few short hours.
Cross cultural communications can be incredibly effective by integrating humor and laughter. Along with being really fun, Susanna’s workshop is a great confidence builder!
Susanna’s workshops are excellent for refining improvisational storytelling skills
There is a fine line between sharing in a way people can relate to and going overboard, Susanna helped me understand this subtle balance.. I was laughing the whole time, people love to laugh!
I was able to quickly translate thoughts into stories the group would remember because they were funny.. I never really thought of how I might be able to integrate humor into my work.
“I’ve always felt vulnerable and fearful when standing in front of dozens of people talking or performing, while taking Susanna’s comedy workshop, I felt those fears peel away and my confidence renewed. I would recommend this to anyone that struggles with a fear of public speaking or stage fright.”
